T-Systems positioned as a leader
September 05, 2011
Gartner positions T-Systems as a “Leader” in its 2011 “Magic Quadrant for Data Center Outsourcing and Infrastructure Utility Services, Europe”.
The analyst firm Gartner has now published the “Magic Quadrant for Data Center Outsourcing and Infrastructure Utility Services, Europe”. The report positions T-Systems in the “Leaders” Quadrant. According to Gartner “leaders perform skillfully. They have a clear vision of the market's direction and develop competencies to maintain their leadership. They shape the market, rather than follow it.”
Strategy takes hold
“As a ‘Leader’ we know the direction in which the market is developing and we are fulfilling our customers’ requirements based on cost-efficiency, flexibility and simultaneous high quality,” says Ferri Abolhassan, member of the T-Systems Board of Management and responsible for the Production area. “We will continue to pursue this strategy.”
Cloud services expanded
T-Systems has considerably expanded its activities in the areas of data center services and cloud computing recently. In addition to the cloud solutions for platforms and software that have been in operation for some time, the ICT service provider also introduced Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) at the start of the year. It allows customers to put together infrastructure services themselves within minutes via a portal, allowing them to balance out peak loads on very short notice and therefore scale their resources better.
One sign of the increasing demand for data center outsourcing and infrastructure utility solutions provided by T-Systems is the number of productive SAP users, which T-Systems almost doubled in 2010. Here, too, the cloud share keeps on growing: Four of five new customers using SAP solutions now obtain their SAP outsourcing services via the "Dynamic Services for SAP" cloud solution.
