Cassovar Bussines Centrum – multifunctional complex between the history and the future
May 27, 2010
The geographical centre of the town of Košice has gained a new landmark. On the border of the historical centre and the new part of the town, there will be opened another stage of the multifunctional complex CASSOVAR on the 27th of May. A noticeable complex of buildings of the total investment costs of 100 millions Euros is being created on the place of the former brewery. The developer of this multifunctional complex is Global Group PLC (GG), the main partner of the project is T-Systems in Slovakia, which has rented the main part of the office rooms. The building work providers were the companies Chemkostav and Skanska.
The multifunctional complex Cassovar spreading on the 2,4 - hectare plots provides the usable area up to 88.000 m². It includes the residential part with 90 above-standard flats, the administrative building CBC I with offices for 1250 employees and the retail part with the shopping, catering and wellness services on the area of 12.500 m², the historical building so-called the Bauerneble house, the underground and terrain parking. Another identical building of the business centre CBC II is ready for its construction. The foundation stone of the CASSOVAR was laid in April 2007, the building inspection of the residence was performed in October 2009 and of the CBC I. in March 2010.
The noticeable landmark of the multifunctional complex CASSOVAR is the original 60 metres high brewery chimney, which stands in the geographical centre of the town of Košice. Its preservation was the architects' first vision on how to present the connection of the history and the modern architecture. They had also had a similar intention with the Bauerneble house from the year 1857, which, after the statical defect, was then rebuilt again from the original bricks according to the historical designs and photographs. Its atmosphere can be used in the future by the luxury art-hotel or by the tenant of the exclusive apartments and offices. The historical ambience of the place is also created by the Chapel of St. Florian. The consensus of the historical place and technological future is also highlighted by the presence of the main partner - the company T–Systems Slovakia.
The key position of T–Systems in this complex is based on the usage of its administrative part. By the construction of the complex CASSOVAR it enabled the firm to concentrate its existing five workplaces situated at different Košice addresses into two centres – at Žriedlová and Moldavská Street.
